Today Chris and I took the kiddos swimming at the new Fruita Rec Center, it is awesome. I recommend everyone try it out. The tots swimming area is neat with some cool water toys. The best thing is they have a daycare. We put the girls in the day care so we could swim with Teagan.
This being said....... Grand Junction voters you are stupid!!!!! Why did you not approve the Rec Center on the ballot a while back. For people who are not familiar Fruita is about 15 minutes west of Grand Junction with about half the population. They have a new beautiful rec center that the voters approved. In G.J (grand junction) we had it on the ballot and it didn't get approved. We have a large elderly population and I am sure that has a lot to do with it. They complain that kids in GJ do nothing and cause trouble but they are not willing to do anything to help. Unfortunately there is not much for for kids to do, exspecially in the winter. We live in a decent size town with no roller rink, ice skating rink, YMCA, or any other decently priced activities for kids. It is a shame the residents of our town are not willing to have a slight tax increase to invest in the futures of younger generations. I am sure they would approve a senior only center! Damn crochity old people you make me mad!!!!!!
I don't blame you for being annoyed! I know old folks have to live on limited incomes, but you can not continue to punish the young folks with nothing to do. Then these are the kids that will cause trouble, get bored, arrested and its a vicious cycle.
ReplyDeleteLuckilly, Griswold is really coming along for the youth. People still complain about the taxes but they are the lowest around and the kids always have something to do. There is a youth center for the kids to go to after school, play video games, pool, wii, and it keeps them busy till thier parents come home. Its nice!
